The G400 > is supported from XFree 3.3.5 onward. Yeah it's a bit strange. The name G400 does show up in the list but never works. ( I've tried it with Redhat, Mandrake and TurboLinux) Instead, it works on the Mach 64 driver or something... Marvel G400 has the built-in TV support so that might be why. Another reason I like vmware is I can safely play with Linux using its commit-changes-only-if-you-want-to feature.
