tlug: preventing sendmail from looking up hostname on delivery?

Question: How can I tell sendmail, acting in "deferred" mode, not to
bother looking up the hostname of the sender before making delivery to
local users? I tried using FEATURE(accept_unresolvable_domains), but
it only seems to be effective when mail is accepted for delivery, not
when the delivery is actually made.
