What version of X do you have (X -version)?
X 3.3.6 works fine (with Redhat 6.2)
3.3.5 took a bit of munching with the config file (but that was before 
nVidia had an .rpm)
I have the Creative GeForce256 SDR version.. other card's mileage may vary 
of course.
