There have been a few other "expect" answers, so I might as well pile on.

You can write an "expect" process that runs as a daemon. This would get
you around several potential pitfalls with this strategy for avoiding your
end of the teaching relationship. Because it is a memory-resident
process, a daemon script needn't leave a file in your account that might
raise suspicion. You would not be reliant on cron, and you would't need
to leave your password lying around in the clear.

It also keeps your scripting handiwork out of view, so that if anyone
decided to call you to account (so to speak), there would be less proof of
your actions and intentions lying (to coin a phrase) around.

Expect can trap signals, so if you kick the thing off the night before,
say, and there is a reboot or process table cleanup before your class
that, say, sends your script a kill signal, the dying process can suggest
by email that you obtain a sick note.

If the systems don't have expect on them, there are expect-like extensions
for Perl and Python which you might be able to shoehorn in through your
account.

But after all of that, I don't see why this needs to start off as a
computing problem. Why not just swap login favors with a friend? With
the time saved, the two of you might be able to come up with a script that
replaces the entire class for a session.
