Any idea how much they cost Dear Antony, If you are running Windows (sorry anti-Bill people) then go down to your local computer junk store and pick up one of the latest Graphics Accelerator Cards. New versions are coming out continuously: Riva TNT Voodoo ATI Besides having "video out/audio out" these cards are packed with other useful features such as real-time mpg encoding, but this feature requires a fast computer. 1) How to send some Japanese TV programing back to your friends and family. With the hidden agenda to get them to send eposodes of South Park to relieve your boredom with TV in Japan: Buy a WinTV card which is less then 10,000 yen. Plug your TV cable into the WinTV card. Now you should be able to watch TV (or if you have a VCR movies) on your computer. Now throw in the the latest ATI or Voodoo card into your computer (less than 30,000 yen). Both Graphics Accelerator cards come with video/audio in/out which can be plugged into the back of your TV set. If you already have video on your computer then only the Graphics Accelerator card is necessary. Here is a question back to this news group how would you do the same thing on Linux. Are ATI or Voodoo cards Linux compatible? How about the WinTV card? Best Regards, Dave Grummer www.jobsinjapan.com From: Antony Stace <antony@example.com> Hi Folks A couple of questions, 1.
