You can use `-sDEVICE=pdfwrite -sOutputFile=output.pdf' which will produce a standard-conformant PDF file that in many cases Acrobat can't read. Adobe has acknowledged the bug, AFAIK has done nothing to fix it. Ghostscript 6.x is much better in this regard, but I don't know whether it has been completely fixed. You should test all PDF files you produce with any readers your users might have, and there may be Postscript that Ghostscript cannot convert to Acrobat- pablum PDF. If you are starting from SGML or LaTex, you could use pdflatex, but has a similar problem AFAIK. At least, Windose users always have trouble reading the PDF docs on www.xemacs.org. -- University of Tsukuba Tennodai 1-1-1 Tsukuba 305-8573 JAPAN Institute of Policy and Planning Sciences Tel/fax: +81 (298) 53-5091 _________________ _________________ _________________ _________________ What are those straight lines for?
