Webcams and Linux

Anyone have a recommendation for a USB camera that works
with Linux? Or a website where I can learn more
about this stuff.

I am looking for something that my daughter (4 years old) 
can play with, so it needs to be somewhat durable. 
The Logitech QuickCam looks nice, but it appears that 
they won't release technical specs, so driver
support is weak.
