RH7.1 doesn't have to be big. You can choose a compact laptop 
installation and/or pick and choose just the packages you want. I've 
found it does a much better job of supporting displays than earlier 
versions (though you may still have to select your display type from a 
list, or in the worst case plug in the specs yourself).
