Bash shell line continuation

Sorry about this really lame question, I have searched for the answer
but ...

What is the line continuation character in Bash shell scripts?

eg I trying this.

grep -vi \.gif ex010905.log | grep -vi \.jpg | grep -vi \.jpeg |     /
           grep -vi 'googleboot |openfind  > summary.log
