The problem here might just be that browsers don't seem to specify the charset they use for text on post operations. (As it's a web email client) I have the same problem with a Forum I tried to make usable for both japanese and german postings. IE and Netscape are more or less sane, they post in the same charset as the document itself is in, but Opera seems to always use iso-8859-1... I wrote to them about that but never got a reply. So he may just have to modify the webmailer to have it's pages in utf-8 and interpret the posted form data in utf-8 and convert to iso-2022-jp if all characters have a representation in that one. -- Tobias PGP: 0x9AC7E0BC
