I have the same dilemma as you. I installed a lot of distros, mandrake, debian, redhat, kondara, turbolinux, bestlinux, suse, slackware,corel linux. My conclusion is that for a non expert user all the distros are basically the same. Now I'm very undecided about what distribution to use. I'm not an expert and I have a lot of troubles to configure a lot of software, as mutt, sendmail, emacs, etc So many man and howto to read. Now I have redhat in my laptop and mandrake on a desktop. Every distribution have something that the others don't have.
