[tlug] cannot connect to the sound daemon

Hello TLUG members,
My name is Martin Arballo, I am Industrial Designer studying a master in 
Chiba University, and I recently bought a brand new laptop specially to 
learn how to use LINUX because of the advantage of it and the Open Source.
Until now, I only used windows environment, so I can not guess how things 
work in LINUX, at least in the beginning.

I installed RED HAT 7.3 by myself, but could not make my computer
make the sound card start automatically, and every time I turn on my 
computer I receive an error message saying:

Canot connect to the sound daemon.
The sound daemon can be started by selecting 'Start ESD' from the right
click menu, or by running 'esd' at a command prompt.

I usually start it by following that instructions, but I do not know how to 
fix that problem to make it start automatically.

Can someone tell me how to do it?
