Don't think so. I remember Jonathan once telling someone, when you're a beginner, and figure out how to do something, write it up for the next beginner--because as you get more advanced, you'll forget to add the things that you now take for granted. For better or worse, Linux's user base has drastically increased. I look at some of the stuff I wrote, firstly as a reminder to myself, then thinking it might help other beginners, a few years ago. At that time I would explain how to get an xterm. Now, I'll write, "At a command prompt..." or perhaps "Type the following..." I do find though, on some more newbie oriented lists, that one sometimes gets the response, "How do I get to the command prompt". These aren't necessarily stupid or lazy people--they're simply people who haven't yet been shown that they should first seek the answers themselves. Also, keep in mind that several more newbie oriented distros go to a lot of work to keep the user from having to work with the command line. So, it's not all that mind boggling. Those who want to learn, when told that they should go research a bit on their own, are often very eager to do so. Scott from NY
