[tlug] a good web cam

People,
I just purchased a logicool Qcam Express QV-31(usb) web cam, I pluged it in 
but no pic! how do I get it to work on linux (Mandrake 8.2)? I tried using 
gnomemeeting but no luck. The box  and web site are all in japanese so I have 
no idea where to go for help, if someone is using this cam.....help please, 
or if possible suggest a good (not expensive) web cam that works out of the 
box..
