I'm not sure about 6.x, but 7.x is certainly being maintained. I get a
stream of emails about fixes. I think the 6.x ones now are just about
plugging security holes.

As I commented in an earlier post, the up2date applet problem was due
to it falling off the panel to the right. I'll know in future.
