Sorry, but I have to correct you here, kinput2 in gentoo supports both
Canna and FreeWnn. I know this for a fact cause I spent a lot of time
getting the ebuild to work with one or both of them.

By default if you emerge kinput2 you will get canna, but you can
override this by adding "freewnn" to your USE flags or using

USE=freewnn emerge kinput2

Note: that's all on one line
If you want kinput2 to support Canna and FreeWnn, then add "canna" and
"freewnn" to your use flags, then choose the one you want with kinput2
runtime flags.
