I had several similar experiences when I was trying out Red Hat 8.0, which
led me to shake my head knowingly and mutter, "bloody Red Hat dot-oh
releases".

Red Hat 9 does seem much better than 8.0.

Of course, Gentoo is better than any Red Hat out there.
