That's one of the reasons I still use my 1999-vintage TRG Pro (think Palm
III with a compact flash socket built in): I can go for weeks on a pair
of AAA alkaline batteries.  Granted, it doesn't play MP3s, but then, I
don't care about that anyway and don't have any MP3s, so it works out well.
