One good way to achieve discipline is a regular backup regimen > (which is highly recommended for other reasons, eg Murphy and PEBKAC). It seems to me Debian, Gentoo, etc, are distros that attract people who like putting on overalls and tinkering with their cars at the weekends, tightening this and oiling that. Me, I just want to put the key in the ignition and drive. The closest I'd get to tinkering is filling the tank and putting some water in the radiator (Do cars still have them?) Mandrake is like that. Maybe one day in the far distant future I might change it and I have a separate /home partition so it's not a problem if I do, but now I just switch on and drive, I'm not interested in what's under the bonnet. So you may think less of me because of it, I'm not into distro snobbery like some of you so I'm going to unsubscribe from this forum and let you have some peace from us tedious noobs Wayne
