I've never had any problems with HP printers. They have open sourced their  
drivers and support for most printers appears quite good. There is also a  
detailed page of instructions for intallation.

I'm a newbie to Linux. I've been running Mandrake Linux (I heard it was  
good to learn on.) for about a year and lurking on this list for about two  
years.
I've never had the need to bother the list with a question yet, thanks to  
google, but I've enjoyed reading and learning from everyones posts.
