Have you been following the mailing list discussions between Damir, a
few others and myself?  

At any rate, if the pacman packages don't work, just get the three
source ones that I list there, and install them.  It works perfectly.
In Arch and FreeBSD, the two where I'm successfully using scim-anthy, I
have to agree with an Ubuntu using friend who says that it has really
reached the ease of use that MS and Mac have.

I think Dr. Mike's page does that, doesn't it?  

I'm an end user, so I'm not the one.  :)

Anyway, as far as Arch, I would say setting the entire thing up took me
about 10 minutes if that.  If the pacman versions work for you, it takes
even less.
