Gmail's concept of "conversations" is slightly different from the straight-up threading model used by most MUAs. This is mildly annoying for mailing lists, but tends to work wonderfully when exchanging mail with people off-list. I wonder why Gmail doesn't revert to more list-friendly behaviour when it detects a List-Id header or something like it? -Josh
