It's not > like it's truly critical stuff that may be lost anyway. Hmmm... Depending on exactly what's being written when the power goes down, it can hose an entire filesystem. Filesystem performance isn't too much of an issue here, so I use ext3 everywhere. The rare times I've had power outages in the middle of doing something, the journalling system has saved my bacon. I do, however, have backups too. -- G.
