Build a 2.6.16 kernel, from http://packages.debian.org/unstable/devel/linux-source-2.6.16 2. Go back and use the ubuntu supplied binary kernel (2.6.15). 3. Install the ubuntu 2.6.15 source and build the 0.4.5 version with it. > So, of course, I searched for a debian package for the 0.4.5 version. Check your installed kernels: # dpkg -l 'linux-image-*' |grep ^ii Then for each installed kernel, check the package contents: # dpkg -L linux-image-with-the-exact-version Then verify if the files listed under /lib/modules are still available. If you have deleted them, reinstall the kernel: # apt-get install --reinstall linux-image-2.6.15-whatever This can save your ass if you deleted the modules. > I downloaded the appropriate GTK dev package, and ran make gconfig. Well, if you don't know how to configure a kernel, then let us forget that. You could still build a kernel from source with the default config. > Wow... I feel so completely out of my depth now. How did you install it.Attachment: signature.asc
