Selecting Japanese during the initial installation includes all kind of stuff that you might not know you need. I've never found anything in Red Hat for adding language support after the initial installation. If someone knows of it, please tell the list. What I _have_ done, is to install Centos multiple times, first English only, then English + Japanese. After each installation, I saved the output of rpm -qa, so I can diff the rpm lists and then _maybe_ you can just install the diffed rpms for Japanese support. If that works, then great. If not, consider reinstalling from scratch. For Centos4(.0?): [jim@example.com env]$ diff rpms.sort.en rpms.sort.en+ja 56a57,58 > Canna-3.7p3-7.EL4 > Canna-libs-3.7p3-7.EL4 92a95 > dbskkd-cdb-1.01-21 157a161 > fonts-ja-8.0-16 164a169,170 > FreeWnn-1.10pl020-5 > FreeWnn-libs-1.10pl020-5 281a288,292 > iiimf-csconv-12.1-10.EL > iiimf-docs-12.1-10.EL > iiimf-gnome-im-switcher-12.1-10.EL > iiimf-gtk-12.1-10.EL > iiimf-le-canna-12.1-10.EL 283a295,296 > iiimf-server-12.1-10.EL > iiimf-x-12.1-10.EL 299a313,314 > jisksp14-0.1-16 > jisksp16-1990-0.1-16 301a317 > kappa20-0.3-15 306a323 > kde-i18n-Japanese-3.3.1-2.1 316a334,337 > kinput2-v3.1-23 > knm_new-1.1-16 > kon2-0.3.9b-25 > kon2-fonts-0.3.9b-25 436a458 > man-pages-ja-20040915-1 624a647 > skkinput-2.06.4-7 664a688 > system-switch-im-0.1.2-3 683a708 > ttfonts-ja-1.2-36 [jim@example.com env]$ Those are all additions, so maybe you could get away with: # yum install Canna Canna-libs dbskkd-cdb fonts-ja FreeWnn \ FreeWnn-libs iiimf-csconv iiimf-docs iiimf-gnome-im-switcher \ iiimf-gtk iiimf-le-canna iiimf-server iiimf-x jisksp14 jisksp16 \ kappa20 kde-i18n-Japanese kinput2 knm_new kon2 kon2-fonts \ man-pages-ja skkinput system-switch-im ttfonts but somehow, I doubt it. Just get it a try for the heck of it.
