My next one will be a Samsung, merely because they're almost all
compatible with OGG-Vorbis files. I have over 4 gigs of .ogg files here
(all ripped from CDs I bought, don't worry :o) and I'd be really
disappointed if I had to convert them to MP3 format. At equivalent
bitrates, MP3 sounds like crap next to OGG so I'd need to convert the
OGG files back to WAV and from there to MP3 at a much higher bit rate,
therefore using much more disk space (and with extra loss).

Right. Actually, I should have said something like "any standard audio
format" instead of "MP3" - I used it in a generic sense. My Cowon
player used to play .wav, mp3, .ogg, etc. (it doesn't play anything now,
it's broken). I'm still using MP3 because I haven't had time to
experiment with command-line file creation going from my CD's to
.ogg..... But even MP3 sounds far better than the bloody native format
Sony uses. (Again - TLUGers, avoid SONY!)

Samsung huh? Are they actually sold under the "Samsung" name, or
something else? The Cowon ("iAudio" - creative name hey?) is Korean....
