Shakthi, Thank you for your continued explanations.Today my SD card reader wasn't responding to having an SD card in it, which is something I reported once before.I figured out today that there's a process called usb-storage, with an id of 3243. If I kill it, it automatically restarts.And then I was able to access my SD card.Now I have a couple of tools to restart things like udev and usb-storage. This is good, as it allows me to keep using my computer as I like.But I'm still not entirely sure why either of these things would stop responding in the first place.Does anyone have any idea what I might do diagnose the cause of these devices stopping?-- Dave M G Ubuntu 6.06 LTS Kernel 2.6.17.7 Pentium D Dual Core Processor PHP 5, MySQL 5, Apache 2
