OK, that should be possible. However, ISTR that MTA timeouts tend to be REALLY long, so probably you need to lower exim's timeout for that operation. I doubt it defaults to temporary reject on filter timeout, because if it's an infloop or something like that it could get ugly---all of your SA childs could be tied up processing retries that you (should ;) know will fail in the same way. "Can we spell 'DoS yourself', children? I knew you could!" [You may have a pretty good idea what you're doing here, but you see the potential if the package defaults to "temporary reject", right?]
