[tlug] Advice on buying a Macbook

I've always bought from the web store.  But I've never had a problem
so I can't say how much pain there would be in getting service.

Worth it, I don't know.  ISTR about 2 man-en, 2 extra years.

All the RAM you can fit in is none too much for Mac OS X.

All of them come with the box AFAIK.  Safari, Garage Band, iMovie,
iTunes, iChat, QuickTime, iPhoto, X11, GCC et al, the usual Unix
utilities, and a couple of things I never use so I've forgotten what
they are.  Plus the Mac-ish GUI stuff like Spotlight and Dashboard.

Extra battery, about 1 man-en.  External speakers and mike (you
probably already have those, but just in case).
