Thank you for replying.

As you may have seen, I sent my other message just prior to getting 
yours. You were correct about the needed packages.

Now my Bluetooth aspirations have halted on a different problem. When 
the device is in "pairing mode", and I execute the following (the device 
address has been obscured):

$ btsco -v NN:NN:NN:NN:NN:NN
btsco v0.5c
Device is 1:0
Voice setting: 0x0060
Can't connect RFCOMM channel: Connection refused

I've looked on the net for this "Connection refused" error, and early 
indications seem to be that it's something broken in Edgy.

I was really hoping to get this up and running by Monday, when I have a 
conference call on Skype scheduled. But I might have to wait until 
Feisty comes out, because some people are saying this is fixed in Feisty.
