Nobody mentioned gnuplot[1] yet, it doesn't pie charts but within the FAQs it mentions a different utility (piechart[2]) that builds on top of the plotutils[3] library and draws pies. It needs a bit of scripting but has very nice features and you can get lots of nice examples online.
