tutorials on XML and web related things, I read the XPATH tutorial a
while back.

For gnome releated xml parsing see, http://xmlsoft.org/ as someone
mentioned for libxml1/2. But I am guessing you want to take things
from a higher level at the moment and get an idea of all the different
standards involved.
