[tlug] centos5 printing -- solved -- yum extender rocks

Hi,

yeah solved it myself without posting first.

configured my printer using a gui - no luck.

googled the error, found lots of things to try.

remembered my dhcp fiasco where I tried everything and it turned out to
be a simple power off the router before configuring it.

thought printing should be a similar no brainer.

used yum extender to look at packages I could get.  found the package
with my driver wasn't installed. lucky I remembered the name.

I really like yum extender.

Why system-config-printer let me choose a driver the system didn't have,
I don't know.  The logs showed D [14/Jun/2007:17:26:18 +0900]
cupsdAuthorize: No authentication data provided.

the other thing I saw was /usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip failed
