There was talk on the list of free Microsoft (from Curt, wasn't it?),
so I decided to drop by one of the major discount chains to see if
they were handing out boxes of buggy Microsoft for free (suitable for
burning, filling up landfills, etc.).  Free?  Ha!!  It's not only not
free, but it's insanely expensive!  Keep in mind that they're not
giving you a computer for these prices; just buggy software from
Microsoft:

Vista Ultimate - 51,240 yen.
Vista Business - 37,690 yen.
Vista Home Premiere - 30,800 yen.
Vista Home Basic - 27,090 yen.

Office Professional - 57,500 yen.
Office Standard - 56,800
Word 2007 - 28,140

The first and the last items on the list are the most shocking.
51,240 yen for buggy software with no computer?  That's crazy!
108,330 yen for "Ultimate" with "Office Professional"?  That's ultra
crazy.  In fact it's insane!  You can get a new computer for that
price!  And Word 2007 for 28,140 yen?  That's hilarious!

Free Microsoft?  I don't think so!
