Re: [tlug] [OT] Recommendations for papers or books about copyright/intellectual property laws and handling in japan?

Hello Liels,

I believe this is the site to look at: http://miau.jp/

The Copyright authorities (from computer network point of view) in Japan are:
Mr. Nobuhiro Nakayama (Layer and Prof. Tokyo Univ)
Mr. Shinto Teramoto (Layer)
Mr. Hideaki Shirata (Layer and Assoc Prof. of Hosei Univ)

Hideaki is also a founder of MIAU.jp, too. These 3 people's stand point is very close to Prof.Lessig in US, and the names of those people are well known among people in Japan, so you may want to know about them as a kind of background knowledge. And MIAU is reporting many problems of copyright law in Japan, so it is a good starting point.

Unfortunately, many of the articles are written in Japanese. Sometimes they are writing in English though, since they are very familiar with the history and the current situation of copyright laws of the world.

Hope this helps,
---Shin.
