I've been happily using Netscape Composer 4.0 for making simple Web pages, but in using a newer machine running Kubuntu, I've been shocked and dismayed at the results I've been getting with text when using - so far - OpenOffice Writer. It kills double spacing between sentences, forces single or triple spacing between paragraphs... What is with this behavior anyway? Is it illegal to use double spacing or something? Why are programs set up to forbid it? It's really weird. Looking at the code, it seems that " " allows double spaces, but """ kills them (why??). What is causing the forced triple line spacing between paragraphs I haven't isolated yet. Here's what allows it (from Composer 4.0): [

] And here's what forces either single or triple spacing (specifically, forces triple spacing when it should be double): [

] A couple of questions: 1) Is there something I can use in Kubuntu that allows WYSIWYG HTML editing similar to Netscape Composer 4.0 (which I was running on Suse 9.1 before)? 2) What specific component of the reproduced code above is causing the forced single or triple spacing? I killed the whole sequence and copy-pasted in the old pre-broken version and that allowed double line spacing. I'm hoping to be able to just get into the code and make a minor adjustment, but killing off the whole block and replacing it is workable. Any assistance or tips appreciated. Lyle PS - It's snowing dudes! If you haven't looked out of your Tokyo windows tonight, then have a look now!!!
