In both cases (this one you discuss and mine) it's a directory, not a
file. So it's not possible for it to get overwritten (unless you're root
and you really try).

But the last thing I need is a big pile of junk appearing under my
revision-controlled .config directory. Still, I must applaud the attempt
to clean up the disaster that is the dot files in $HOME. (I currently
have 129 of the damn things.)
