Neither sdb1 nor sdc smell right for a DVD drive.
How did you determine that either sdb1 or sdc were for the DVD-RAM drive?
KDE disk filesystems shows the drive information.
I have no /dev/scd0 in my system.
How did you determine that?
What is the output of:
ls -l /dev/scd* ls -ld /sys/block/s*
david@example.com:~$ ls -l /dev/scd* brw-rw----+ 1 root cdrom 11, 0 2008-10-22 08:51 /dev/scd0
david@example.com:~$ ls -ld /sys/block/s* drwxr-xr-x 8 root root 0 2008-10-22 10:57 /sys/block/sda drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 0 2008-10-22 10:57 /sys/block/sr0
By the way, using DVD-RAM is uncommon. Are you actually using DVD-RAM, or is this a DVD+/-RW drive that can also handle DVD-RAM media (but does not have DVD-RAM media)?
DVD Multi drive.
