Haven't tried to write an ebuild, and still don't quite "get" what an overlay is <sheepish> :-} I'm sure it's not a hard concept... I just haven't had a need for it yet, so haven't looked into it. In this case, it's not such a problem because I like Amarok a lot better than XMMS (probably no surprise there). The player window is kinda crappier, but I can live with that. > > But I, and many other ex-MMS-ers *like* to have [...] convenient > > buttons to play/pause/etc without having RSI-inducing keyboard > > shortcuts to remember. > > Are you kidding me? Actually, I have a HH keyboard, but never use it :-) > And to make a point about how you prefer the mouse to the keyboard, > probably in order to troll-bait Josh. ;-P Actually, my post was a bit misleading, because I'm much more of a keyboard jockey than the average, even (I'm sure) the average Linux user... one of the reasons I use Kmail, e.g., is because of its high kb-ability compared to some other clients. So that may be why I prefer mousing on the music player... I already feel I've reached a limit with all the other kb shortcuts I use for windowmanager (icewm), email, konsole, etc., and don't want to add more for something relatively minor. Dave
