Oh gosh, don't get me started.  Updated firefox on CentOS lately?  Or
tried installing Fedora, unchecking both KDE and Gnome, to find that
PolicyKit will install one or the other? 

(Firefox, on both CentOS and Fedora installs, whether you tell it to
check before installing addons or not, 71 language packs.)

It gets more like Windows by the day.  Ok, I'll stop now, or get
completely off topic. 

RedHat has apparently decided that convenience (or what they think you
*should* consider convenient) is far more important than control, and
yes, Anaconda will do lots of things you don't want it to do. 

Not to mention that you will have about 20 services to turn off at first
boot. 
Ok, I feel better now. 



Anyway, with the situation you describe, the only thing that comes to
mind is to create a kickstart file that doesn't install it.  Possibly
Columbus Jim might have a better idea, I think he's the CentOS/RH expert
on the list.
