There's a good thought, actually; I'd just assumed that they were gleefully thinking that they could take me for thousands of dollars more for stuff I'd already paid for. > And include the first five titles from them you'd upgrade if such a > program were offered. Actually, even better might be just to give them the list of all eighty or whatever. > > ...that's not a good thing to do in a market where there are free (if > > illegal) alternatives. > > Are there for Blu-Ray disks? I'm guessing (I've not really investigated) that there's not much HD stuff being posted yet, but as everybody's bandwith increases and BluRay becomes more popular, it seems to me inevitable that it will come. > Isn't the copy-protection for that fairly strong by consumer > standards? Sure, but it's been cracked, and I'm told that BluRay rippers are out there now. (That's another thing I've not looked into because I still own few enough BluRays that it's not at all difficult to find the one I'm looking for, and I'm not looking for one that often.) All it takes is a few people to start ripping them and making torrents available. cjs -- Curt Sampson <cjs@example.com> +81 90 7737 2974 Functional programming in all senses of the word: http://www.starling-software.com
