Attila, Thank you for responding. Turns out, I'm an idiot. As mentioned in other threads, I had to replace my machine. Although I reinstalled most of the software I had before, I keep forgetting that I haven't fully reconstructed the system as I had it before. One of the packages I had not reinstalled since getting the new machine was Japanese support for XPDF. I was just assuming it was there because it had always been there before... So, I installed it and I can see the Japanese now. Oh, and by the way, the reason I don't embed the font is that it makes the PDF file upwards of 4 MB in size, which is unacceptable by the company I'm making the system for. Thanks for the help though. I'm sorry you had replied just before I realized I was making a dumb mistake. -- Dave M G
