Hi TLUG, I'm wondering if you can recommend a low power device for a home server. What I need is: - router, firewall: basically gateway between my home PCs / laptops and my ISP - raid storage: for all my backups collected with rsync from other remote servers - file server, nfs or smb: for movies, mp3s, etc - cron jobs: run rsync to collect backups, and bittorrent I think Bubba2 can do all the above, 7-12W power consumption, for 3 man yen including shipping. http://www.excito.com/bubba/products/technical-specifications.html I've been keeping an eye on similar devices but I haven't seen one that can do all the above. For example SheevaPlug looked interesting at some point but raid would have to be over USB and that doesn't look reliable enough to me. http://www.plugcomputer.org/index.php/us/faq If you know a comparable product, please let me know.
