Mattia,Yep, you did mention USB devices before, and had I not forgot my external HD was not on my hub, we might have saved some time.The "legacy USB support" option turned out to be the issue!I would never have found those postings you referenced... I tend to go right past any postings on the internet that are Windows related. Myopic, I know, since this is a hardware issue and not OS related.Anyway, the solution turned out to be disabling legacy USB support in the BIOS manager.My computer now boots like it's mixing caffeine and amphetamines! It gets to the Ubuntu splash screen in mere seconds.Sweet. Thanks to everyone who offered solutions and suggestions! -- Dave M G
