To remove network manager there are various ways, but the very-GUI way I do it is: System|Administration|Synaptic manager. Then search on Name (only) for "network-man", and "mark for complete uninstall" any packages that are currently installed. Make sure you know how to configure /etc/network/interfaces beforehand though; 'cos once you remove network-manager you can't google any more ;-) Darren -- Darren Cook, Software Researcher/Developer http://dcook.org/gobet/ (Shodan Go Bet - who will win?) http://dcook.org/work/ (About me and my work) http://dcook.org/blogs.html (My blogs and articles)
