Good afternoon ~

TradeWinds is looking for a talented equity data developer for one of our investment banking clients. The reason for my e-mail this afternoon is to network with people at TLUG about who you might know that is looking for a new opportunity with 5+ years of database administration experience? This is a permanent role.

Our client is a stable, reputed investment banking firm, that is looking to replace an engineer in their infrastructure team. They are looking for a person who is experienced, and will provide up to a Vice President title. Below are the details on the position.

Location: Tokyo, Japan

Compensaton: to be determined

This role is open because a member of their highly-specialized team has left the firm. This is a great chance for someone looking for a challenge and growth, as the skills and experiences you gain in this role may lead to a larger career in investment banking.

This position will allow you to:

Be a hands-on resource assisting the team with implementation, support, and operation of major Sybase and bespoke databases, and for delivering query tuning, optimization, troubleshooting, and performance tuning solutions. Some project management experience is also preferred.

To succeed, you will need strong experience dealing with database administration tools. You'll gain experience working very closely with leading technology teams. In addition, you get all the tools and training you need to excel.

Our ideal candidate:

-has 5 years or more experience with Sybase ASE, Replication servers, IBM UDB/DB2, or MS SQL Server. Oracle and Oracle Dataguard would also be helpful.

-has in-depth knowledge of Red Hat Linux OS.

-has a good understanding of infrastructure environments, including networking, storage

-it would be nice if the person had shell scripting and Perl programming experience

-is personable, with a high level of English fluency
