Hi Darren,Maybe there might be other causes, but one guess is that you're hitting CTRL+S. Hit CTRL+Q to get it back. Found this just now:http://www.thecorneroffice.org/blog/plink/2005/03/050312-0153.html Ray On 28/01/11 15:57, Darren Cook wrote:As the subject says, at some point (*) in an ssh session what I'm typing does not appear on screen. The commands I type still work. Anyone any idea how I get my keypresses to appear again ("reset" does not change anything), or even better what the cause might be? Currently my only solution is to exit and login again. TIA, Darren *: I think the trigger might be pressing ctrl-c to break out of a tail -f command. I've only noticed it on one machine (running cygwin), and I'm fairly sure the problem only started in the last week or two. I don't administer the remote machine, but I'm fairly sure nothing has been upgraded on it. I'm using gnome-terminal on my side.
