That is, most probably, from the command > line? In the past I used 'mplayer -dumpstream' and mencoder/oggencode for this. This is not a 'fire single command and forget'-approach thou - you have to install some requirements (i.e. x264 or other encoder libraries). Once everything is in place you can ofcourse create a script doing everything in one run. My notes on the setup are at http://fluxcoil.net/doku.php/snippets/mencoder . Christian
