On a side note, I tried about 2 years ago to install a super light window manager on an old PPC ibook (the grey shell version) and I was stuck with Debian not having a PPC version of Java available at the time. I was really trying to go the Linux way on that one though. I still have the machine (even bought it a new battery that gives it a whooping 3 hours of autonomy when my 3 months old MBP has 8 with a loaded battery...)

I'll check that again when I have some free time because I'd love to have a fully free machine for work (so that I can test work arounds for jobs that require non-free ugly stuff without being lazy and opening a virtual-windows session...)

Also, @Attila, I'm in the middle of a deadline so I'll reply to your 10/25 mail re. what works differently in OSX later.
