I haven't added a printer for a while (and I don't want to delete my
current printer just to try it out since I might give myself more
stress just before the weekend), but during printer installation with
CUPS, I think it asks you to provide a PPD file. If Stephen's
suggestion doesn't work, you can also try this. The end result is
perhaps the same -- I think CUPS just copies the PPD file to the above
directory.
